How to Book

When you are ready to plan a team building event that everyone on your team will love, then it’s time to book your team building at Breakout! You will need a few things to get scheduled.
Decide on your group size: First, it’s a good idea to know how many players you will have. It’s okay if you don’t totally know an exact number, because you will book based on the number of rooms. Each room can hold up to 8 players (though we recommend 4-6 for the most comfortable and effective team building experience) so you have some wiggle room as far as exact numbers.
Choose your Themes: Once you have your group size down, take a look at the rooms available at your local Breakout. There are so many fun story lines to choose from! Pro Tip: booking early makes sure you will have the most options available to you!
Schedule your Experience: Lastly, you will need to reach out to your Breakout team to get on the books! Let us know what days and times you are interested in, the rooms you are excited about, and how large your group is so we can cater the experience to your needs. Our team building groups get to play all their rooms at the same time, so you and your crew can arrive together and play together. It’s a blast!

How to Prepare

Choose your Teams: Once you have made your reservation, you and your team can decide how to split into groups. If your goal is to build your team's communication skills, strategic thinking, or creative problem solving, then you might want to have each group consist of people who work together regularly. Escape rooms really will strengthen their communication skills and team work! If you are just wanting to take the office out for a good time, then you might consider making the groups based on who doesn’t often get to work together. Escape rooms are great relationship builders. You can even have your teams join in on a little healthy competition together and compete to see which team can get the best time. No matter what you choose, your coworkers and employees are sure to have a blast!
Fill out your Waivers: Your teams won’t need to wear anything specific to Breakout, so the only thing you’ll have to do after choosing your groups is having each player fill out a waiver. You will receive your waiver links in your confirmation email, but you can also find it here.
Arrive 15 Minutes Early (at least!): When you arrive, we will confirm that each person has a waiver filled out. You are welcome to send us this list ahead of time if you’d like us to get these checked out before you get here! We will also give everyone a chance to use the restroom and ask any questions. Make sure your teams know the time to be there - we recommend telling them to arrive 15 minutes early - so that they don’t miss out on the game when we start you at your scheduled time!

What to Expect

Some of your team members might be nervous (and of course excited!) so you can let them know that these rooms are designed to be FUN, not intense or scary. We are intentional about our safety precautions so that nothing will get in the way of the good time you and your team will have together. You and your team can walk out of the room at any time and you also will have a game master available to you the entire time you are with us. This game master will answer any of your questions, explain the game to you, and give you hints when you need help moving forward.
For those team members who want to know more about escape rooms before they play, we recommend sending them the following articles:
