3 Underrated Escape Room Tips

If you search for escape room tips online, you'll see a lot of the same tips repeated: communicate with your team, search the room thoroughly, etc. We admit that we repeat a lot of these tips on the blog.
Now look, these tips are important, but we do have some underrated, not often-heard tips that know will help you out too.

Search for clues that are NOT eye-level.
When looking for clues, it's natural to scan the room at eye level, without even realizing we're doing that. But escape room clues may be hidden high or low, so be sure to look up and down the room. This doesn’t mean you need to climb up to the ceiling, but just look a little higher (and lower) than normal.

Keep each key in its lock, and each lock in its latch.
As you open locks and find more and more things, the room can quickly devolve into chaos. It's difficult to navigate around a bunch of discarded locks on the floor, so we recommend keeping opened locks on their latches. It makes everything easier to find, and your game master will LOVE you for this!

 Make a clue "discard pile."
Most escape room clues will only be used once. So after you've used a clue, we recommend sorting it into a separate pile. This way everyone knows what has and has not been used yet.

We hope these tips have been helpful! If you’re ready to try them out in your next escape room experience, book a room here.
