Your family is in town for the holidays, enjoying Thanksgiving, Christmas, or whatever you celebrate.  You’ve stuffed yourselves with delicious food, enjoyed the holidays festivities, maybe opened up some presents. But…now what?
If your family is getting together for a holiday weekend, let’s be honest: sometimes it’s hard to know what to do with each other when the traditional holiday activities are over. But don’t worry: we’ve got some ideas on unique things to do over the holidays to have a blast and make some memories!

Volunteer together.
The season of giving shouldn’t end when the holidays are over. Many charitable organizations see an influx of volunteers during the holidays, but a huge drop when they’re over. Nonprofits near you could really use your help! Volunteering together can be a fun and meaningful activity to do with your family. Look up local charities near you to see how you can make a difference.

Go ice skating.
A perfect activity to enjoy the colder weather. And a perfect activity that all ages can enjoy. Throw on some skates and have some fun!

Visit an escape room.
Escape rooms are a truly unique way to spend time with family. There’s nothing quite like being locked in a room to bring you together! (Don’t worry; the door doesn’t actually lock).
Visiting an escape room will not only help your family work together, but will create memories you’ll laugh about for years to come. If you want to book an escape room with us at Breakout, click here.

Host a holiday game night.
You don’t necessarily have to go out to enjoy yourselves. You can bring the fun to you with a game night! Break out the board games and card games you have on hand and let out your competitive side. Click here for more on how to host a perfect game night.

Make unique hot chocolate recipes.
There are so many fun ways to change up a classic hot chocolate recipe. This list gives just a sample. Try making some of these recipes with your family. You could even host a contest! Depending on the size of your family gatherings, you could divide the family into smaller groups and have them each make a unique hot chocolate. Decide on “judges” and enjoy your yummy new creations.

From all of us at Breakout, we wish you a very happy holiday season!
